Mid-Missouri’s largest school district and numerous other districts have canceled classes for Tuesday, due to the winter storm and travel conditions.

Columbia Public Schools (CPS), Southern Boone R-1 in Ashland, the Hallsville school district, Centralia Public Schools, Fayette R-3 schools, Moberly Public Schools and Sturgeon R-V are some of the districts that have a traditional snow day on Tuesday. CPS’ Michelle Baumstark notes this is the district’s first snow day this school year, adding that the day will allow time for road crews to clear and treat roadways across the district.
