Boone County prosecutors have charged 70-year-old Arthur Hooks with first degree assault and two other felonies. The Columbia Police Department’s two-page probable cause statement indicates the victim was stabbed with a filet knife. The victim says Hooks also chased him through the yard and tried to stab him ten more times. The victim tells police the pain from the stabbing was 11 on a scale of zero being no pain at all and ten being the worst pain in his life. Hooks is quoted as telling Columbia Police after the stabbing that he hoped the victim would die.

Online court records show Hooks has previous convictions for federal conspiracy to distribute cocaine, along with multiple convictions in western Missouri’s Jackson County.
