Columbia Police say a suspect who barricaded himself inside a residence near Fyfer Place and East Broadway was taken into custody peacefully Tuesday afternoon, after a three-hour standoff.
CPD investigators say officers were trying to serve a felony arrest warrant for 23-year-old Ethan James McCauley for a prior weapons incident, and that he refused to leave the residence. Columbia Police say 21-year-old Zoe Honovi obstructed police from arresting McCauley. She was arrested for hindering prosecution.
The Columbia Police SWAT team, CPD’s crisis negotiation team and the Boone County Sheriff’s Department’s K-9 unit were involved. CPD is seeking armed criminal action and other charges against McCauley.
