Monday night’s expected sub-freezing temperatures have prompted Columbia officials to announce that they’ll open a temporary overnight warming center at the Wabash station downtown.

The facility will operate as a warming center from 7 tonight until 6 am Tuesday, with the same hours tomorrow and Thursday nights. Columbia officials note the National Weather Service is projecting temperatures below 15 degrees, with wind chills close to zero.
