While it’s been closed for more than 16 months since a devastating fire on New Year’s Eve 2022, Columbia’s popular Golden Corral is moving closer to re-opening.

Construction crews have been rebuilding and remodeling the restaurant on Clark lane, and Golden Corral will hold a three-day hiring event this week: from Thursday through Saturday. The hiring event will be at Golden Corral from 10 am until 3 pm those three days, and you’re encouraged to bring your resume. They’re looking to hire for numerous positions.

Columbia fire investigators say the New Years’ Eve 2022 blaze caused more than $250,000 in damage. Video from our news partner KMIZ that night showed flames and smoke coming from the roof, when Columbia firefighters arrived that night. There were no injuries.

Golden Corral is best known for its buffet-style meals, especially its breakfast. It’s also a popular spot on Thanksgiving Day.
