Missouri transportation officials say Columbia’s new Providence road bridge over I-70 is expected to be done in mid-November.
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) says the deck for the new bridge was poured Tuesday and that there is still a lot of work to finish before the bridge can open.

MoDOT closed Providence over I-70 to all traffic in May to reconstruct the bridge and ramps. The ramps at the interchange may open ahead of the bridge.

The bridge is part of MoDOT’s $441-million project to rebuild and expand the 14 miles between Columbia and Rocheport. Columbia-based Emery Sapp & Sons (ESS) is the main contractor.
