Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri officials are thanking you for your generosity in helping them build a brand-new $6.5 million house in Columbia.

The new Ronald McDonald House near Stadium and College celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday. It’s designed to be a welcoming space for families to rest and recharge while their children receive medical care at the new $200-million Children’s Hospital. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri executive director Terri Gray notes the house ensures that families are always close to their children during critical times.

Ms. Gray has told 939 the Eagle that the Ronald McDonald House has impacted many who have not stayed there, referring to people who have friends or attend church with someone who’s benefited from the house.

The new Ronald McDonald House can accommodate up to 24 guest families per night, up from the previous number of 18. The facility also includes a multi-purpose family room, gardens and walking trails.
