Officials at Columbia Regional Airport (COU) have called a 9 o’clock press conference for Thursday morning to announce new flights at COU.

The announcement comes following October’s record passenger numbers at Columbia Regional Airport. More than 14,000 passengers flew out of COU in October, which is a new record.
Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe, Boone County Presiding Commissioner Kip Kendrick and others will speak at the 9 am press conference, which is open to the public.

In November, fast-growing Allegiant Airlines announced that they’ll begin service from COU to Orlando and to Destin Florida in June 2026. Allegiant will join American and United Airlines at COU: American flies to Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago, and United Airlines flies to Chicago O’Hare and to Denver.

We’ll learn this morning whether this is a new airline coming to Columbia or if it is one of the current ones adding new flights.
