Columbia Police have cleared the scene at Frederick Douglass high school on Providence, after a threat Tuesday morning.
CPD says no threat was located and that the streets in that area have reopened. Columbia police department spokesman Colin Imhoff says while there were no students in the building, there were staff members. CPD cleared all staff outside the school building.
Columbia Public Schools (CPS) spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark tells 939 the Eagle that staff were on-campus getting ready for the new school year. Baumstark says CPS appreciates law enforcement’s efforts to keep Douglass staff safe. She also appreciates CPD’s attention to the incident.
