UPDATE: CPD seeking second degree murder charges against four suspects in murder of veteran Michael Burke

Columbia Police have arrested three 18-year-olds and a male juvenile for Sunday night’s shooting death of a veteran who was shot multiple times on Ridgemont Court in southwest Columbia.

Columbia Police are seeking second degree murder and first degree robbery charges against 18-year-old Alexis Baumann of Hallsville, 18-year-old Kobe Aust of Columbia and 18-year-old Joseph Crane of Columbia. A male juvenile has also been arrested for second degree murder.

The victim is identified as 42-year-old Michael Ryan Burke of Columbia. Former Columbia mayoral candidate Tanya Heath tells 939 the Eagle that Mr. Burke was a decorated veteran. Mr. Burke was also a former Columbia firefighter.

Ridgemont Court is west of Forum and west of Schnucks and CC’s City Broiler. CPD describes their investigation as active and ongoing: anyone with information about the homicide should call Columbia Crimestoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.
