Officials at Columbia Public Schools (CPS) are inviting you to this afternoon’s groundbreaking ceremony for the new $25-million elementary school that will be built next to southwest Columbia’s John Warner middle school.

CPS Superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood and other dignitaries will be at today’s 3:30 groundbreaking ceremony in the 5500 block of South Sinclair. CPS’ Michelle Baumstark describes the groundbreaking as an opportunity to celebrate the commencement of a new chapter in our community’s history.

CPS patrons approved the new elementary school in April 2022, as part of an $80-million voter-approved bond issue.
