The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flash flood warning for mid-Missouri’s Boone, Cooper and Howard counties until 1:45 Thursday afternoon. The warning area includes Columbia, Boonville, Pilot Grove and Fayette.

Columbia Water and Light crews have restored power to more than 1,500 residents impacted by this morning’s power outage near Stadium and West Broadway.

The heavy rain that started overnight has caused at least one water rescue. Columbia Fire Department (CFD) and Boone County Fire Protection District crews rescued two occupants of a vehicle at about 5:15 am near Blackfoot road and Bear Creek. Columbia firefighters say the two occupants were trapped by high water.
