A flood watch will take effect Friday evening for the entire 939 the Eagle mid-Missouri listening area.

National Weather Service (NWS) St. Louis meteorologist Jared Maples tells 939 the Eagle the flood watch takes effect at 7 pm and runs through Sunday night. The NWS says Columbia and Jefferson City could see three to four inches of rain by Sunday night. We’ll see multiple rounds of storms tonight and this weekend, with some dry time as well.
Meantime, the NWS says mid-Missouri could see severe thunderstorms today. NWS St. Louis meteorologist Lydia Jaja tells 939 the Eagle that large hail and 60 mile-per-hour winds are possible on this Good Friday in the late afternoon to evening hours. She says there is no tornado threat today.
