Columbia Water and Light crews are working on this Friday night to restore power to more than 1,800 residents impacted by Friday afternoon’s severe thunderstorms in mid-Missouri.

Boone County Office of Emergency Management director Chris Kelley tells 939 the Eagle that about 4,500 Boone County residents are without power tonight and that numerous trees are down across the county. Some are covering roads and Mr. Kelley says some power lines are down as well. You are urged to be careful.
Boone County emergency managers are urging anyone who experienced storm damage to report it to their office. Mr. Kelley says damage reports play a key role in helping the Boone County Emergency Operations Center assess the extent of the storm damage. You are urged to submit storm damage and debris.

There are NO reports of injuries at this time in Columbia/Boone County.
