Friends of a Columbia man killed in last week’s horrific collision with a tractor trailer on I-70 have raised more than $14,000 for his funeral expenses and to help his family financially.

22-year-old Joshua Hulse was killed last Tuesday morning at the 117-mile marker on I-70, near the Harrisburg/Huntsdale exit.

Alicia Spaid is organizing the GoFundMe and says Mr. Hulse’s willingness to always be there for others, no matter what plans he needed to cancel, was one of the many great things about him. She says he showed up recently at a youth group campout with flowers for his mom.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report says a tractor trailer driven by a Florida man was slowing down due to a motor vehicle crash that was ahead on the interstate. Troopers Hulse’s Chevy Impala struck the rear of the tractor trailer and the vehicle became lodged under the trailer. Mr. Hulse was pronounced dead at the scene.

GoFundMe organizers are asking you for your prayers, for a word of encouragement for Mr. Hulse’s family and for any donation you can afford. Services for 22-year-old Joshua Hulse will take place on Sunday August 4 at Columbia’s Seventh-day Adventist church.

A time has not been set yet.
