Family, friends and strangers have raised more than $2,700 for a man from Columbia who nearly drowned at the Lake of the Ozarks in late July, after being electrocuted on a dock.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 22-year-old man was welding on a dock near Gravois Mills when he received an electrical shock and fell into the water. Troopers say the man was submerged in the water “for a few seconds” before he was rescued.
A GoFundMe has been established to help Tyler with his medical bills and recovery expenses.
Friends hope to raise about $7,500. Friends say Tyler faces a long road to recovery and say everything changed in an instant with the incident, which they describe as heartbreaking.
The Highway Patrol says Tyler was flown to University Hospital in Columbia after the near drowning incident.
