The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has fully reopened I-70 and Highway 54 in mid-Missouri’s Kingdom City, after a weekend bridge demolition project.

Improve I-70 program director Eric Kopinski tells 939 the Eagle that westbound I-70 fully reopened at about 10:45 Sunday morning, while eastbound I-70 and Highway 54 fully reopened at about 1:30 Sunday afternoon.

Crews began demolishing the old Highway 54 bridges over I-70 on Friday evening.
While MoDOT warned about potential Saturday/Sunday delays of up to one hour, Mr. Kopinski says the longest delay was about 25 minutes. He tells 939 the Eagle that many local residents found a different route, which helped greatly. Mr. Kopinski thanks you for your patience.
