UPDATE: Lockdown at Blair Oaks high school is lifted

Blair Oaks high school officials say Tuesday morning’s lockdown at the school has been lifted, after a possible threat was made toward the school.

Blair Oaks high school principal Chris Marshall is praising students and staff for how they handled the situation, and thanks Cole County Sheriff’s deputies for their quick response.

Mr. Marshall says school officials don’t believe anyone on the Wardsville campus was ever in danger. He says the school was locked down to ensure safety.

Principal Marshall also says the students in question have been escorted off campus by Cole County Sheriff’s deputies for further questioning. He adds that federal law protects the confidentiality of student records and that the disclosure of any student discipline resulting from this incident is prohibited by law.
