Missouri health officials say there are more cases of cyclosporiasis across the nation now than they usually see in an entire year.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) says it has identified more than 80 positive cases in the last week. DHSS urges you to wash any fruits or vegetables before eating, cutting or cooking them to reduce your risk of the disease.

Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) says 13 cases of cyclosporiasis have been reported this week in Boone County.

Some listeners on 939 the Eagle’s Facebook page have asked if they all ate at the same place or shopped at the same grocery store. PHHS spokesperson Austin Krohn tells 939 the Eagle that this hasn’t been determined yet and that more analysis is required.
