Mizzou is 8-4 and Coach Drinkwitz notes they will try to become the first team in Mizzou history to win at least nine games in three straight seasons. The Tigers are ranked #25 in the new Associated Press (AP) college football poll, while the 10-3 Cavaliers are ranked #20. Virginia lost a tough game in overtime to Duke in Saturday’s ACC championship game in Charlotte.

The December 27th game kicks off at 6:30 pm central time. Mizzou football season ticket holders and Mizzou Athletics Fund donors will receive an e-mail with a link to purchase tickets in the Mizzou section at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville. General tickets for the Gator Bowl can be purchased on the official Gator Bowl website.

The Tigers are led by Doak Walker award finalist Ahmad Hardy, who is just 68 yards from breaking the school’s record. Missouri hasn’t played Virginia in football since 1973, when “Uncle” Al Onofrio was coach. The Tigers won that game 31-7 at Faurot.
