A Moberly man is jailed without bond this morning, charged with second degree murder for Sunday’s shooting death of 23-year-old Bailey Scott.

Moberly Police requested that the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) investigate Sunday’s homicide. The Patrol says Ms. Scott suffered a gunshot wound. The Patrol says DDCC investigators have arrested 68-year-old David Heyde on Thursday. Heyde is jailed without bond in Randolph County.

Reporter Mitch Kaminski at our news partner ABC-17 reports Moberly’s Boozy Badger Bar has organized a balloon release in Bailey’s honor Friday evening at 7, outside the bar. The public is invited. Kaminski also reports that Heyde is a former city of Moberly employee.
