State transportation crews hope to re-open the overpass over I-70 in mid-Missouri’s Montgomery County by this (Wednesday) evening.
Contractors for the state Department of Transportation (MoDOT) have been conducting emergency repairs on the overpass at mile marker 180 in High Hill for the past two weeks, after a tractor trailer truck it in late June.
High Hill is about 54 miles east of Columbia.
MoDOT has one lane of eastbound I-70 closed until 11 this morning. You can expect delays in that area. MoDOT spokeswoman Marisa Ellison tells 939 the Eagle that MoDOT normally doesn’t allow any daytime lane closures on I-70, but this has been an emergency.
