UPDATE: No arrests yet in weekend Columbia shooting

Detectives need your assistance in solving Friday night’s shooting on north Columbia’s Blue Ridge road, a shooting that left an adult male hospitalized with serious injuries.

Columbia Police say the shooting happened at about 9:10 pm Friday near Blue Ridge Road and Northland drive, which is north of I-70 and east of Rangeline. Police say they found the victim in the area with a gunshot wound.

There is no suspect information at this time. 939 the Eagle News contacted CPD spokesman Brian McNeill over this weekend, and McNeill says there’s no additional information at this time. CPD’s investigation continues: anyone with information is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at (573) 875-TIPS: you can call that number anonymously.

Our news partner KMIZ spoke to residents in the neighborhood after the shooting. One man who lives nearby tells ABC-17 that he first heard seven gunshots, then another three.
