The Columbia Police Department’s heavily-redacted probable cause statement says multiple 911 callers saw the victim walking near Columbia’s Ash street on a Sunday morning in early June, saying she had blood on her shirt and appeared to be distressed. Court documents say the victim’s fractured jaw required surgery. The court documents also quote CPD officers as saying the woman appeared to be terrified, when they spoke to her at a local hospital. She referenced previous assaults but was too afraid to speak to police about those, according to court documents.

The probable cause statement also quotes the victim as saying she believes Jesse Jones knows where she is currently staying and that he’s found her there before. The court documents also say that Jones is a trained mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter.

Jones’ next scheduled court appearance is a July 15 preliminary hearing before Judge Kayla Inez Jackson-Williams.
