Jefferson City Police say the resident who was struck by a vehicle that hit the building he lives in on North Ten Mile drive has died. The New Year’s Day crash happened at about 1:55 pm, and Jefferson City Police say the crash remains under criminal investigation by JCPD’s traffic unit.

JCPD says their initial investigation has found that a Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 57-year-old local man was eastbound on North Ten Mile drive, when it went off the right side of the road into a parking lot and collided with a building in the 3300 block of North Ten Mile. Jefferson City Police say the victim occupied a bedroom at that location and was transported to a local hospital and later died.
