Columbia Police say a 57-year-old local motorist has died from injuries he sustained in Wednesday morning’s five-vehicle collision that closed eastbound I-70 at the Business Loop for more than an hour.

Columbia Police say the man died at a local hospital. A second driver, a juvenile, sustained minor injuries in the crash.

CPD spokesman Colin Imhoff tells 939 the Eagle that a horse trailer was involved in the crash, which happened at about 10:40 am. The horse trailer was a Budweiser Clydesdales trailer. Anheuser-Busch tells our news partner ABC-17 that the horse and the truck’s driver were not injured.
