Columbia Police need your assistance in solving the shooting that happened early Sunday morning on East Walnut, just a few blocks from the police station. CPD says no one is in custody at this time.
CPD says this morning’s shooting happened at about 1:45 in the 800 block of East Walnut. CPD says the victim was treated on-scene for minor injuries, adding that three vehicles were damaged by gunfire as well.
Our news partner ABC-17’s Marie Moyer quotes a neighbor as telling her that the shooting happened during a large gathering downtown. Columbia Police encourage anyone with information on the shooting to call Crimestoppers at (573) 875-TIPS. Your identity will be protected.
Ms. Moyer reports the scene was chaotic and that she saw at least 26 evidence markers.
