UPDATE: Columbia Public Works says South Rock Quarry Road has reopened.

ORIGINAL STORY is below:

Columbia’s South Rock Quarry road between East Stadium and Stags Way will be closed from 10 to 11 this morning so crews can remove trees that fell on the road during Tuesday evening’s storms.

Public Works officials say large trees fell across South Rock Quarry road during the overnight hours, and Public Works crews have moved those trees to a ditch. Arthur Ratliff Tree Removal will be on-scene at 10 am to remove the large trees from the ditch, which requires the road to be closed for about an hour.

Motorists are urged to find an alternative route.
