UPDATE: Power restored to thousands of residents in Columbia/Boone County; residents urged to report storm damage

Crews from Columbia Water and Light and from Boone Electric worked Friday night into Saturday morning to restore power to several thousand residents impacted by Friday’s storms that blew through the region.

Columbia Water and Light restored power to about 2,000 residents, while Boone Electric restored power to about 4,500 residents. Boone County Office of Emergency Management director Chris Kelley tells 939 the Eagle that Boone County Road and Bridge crews and Columbia Water and Light crews were also out Saturday morning removing trees from roads.

No injuries or deaths are reported.

Boone County emergency managers are urging anyone who had storm damage to report it to their office. You can find a link to report storm damage here.

939 the Eagle listener Mickie Foland of Fayette tells 939 the Eagle that Howard County was hit hard by the storm, with trees and power lines down everywhere. Foland says they couldn’t drive on their road due to trees and power lines being down.
