A teenager from Columbia who allegedly fired multiple bullets into his ex-girlfriend’s house this week is jailed without bond.

Boone County prosecutors have filed five felonies against 18-year-old Elijah Butler, including stalking and armed criminal action. A motion from Boone County assistant prosecutor Risa Perkins describes Butler as “an incredible danger to the public”, noting he believed his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend were in the house.
Police found multiple bullet holes in the residence, including through multiple windows. Court documents also allege that Butler had texted the woman numerous messages before the incident, threatening to shoot up her house.
The woman dropped an order of protection against Butler, before the shooting.
