USDA official tours Missouri flood damage Thursday

(Missourinet) The top official overseeing USDA’s Farm Service Agency will be touring flood damage on Thursday in northwest Missouri, USDA Under Secretary Bill Northey.

“We are in a world of hurt along the Missouri [River],” said Blake Hurst, the President of Missouri Farm Bureau. He will join Northey on the tour.

Hurst says thousands of acres of productive Missouri farmland are underwater. Some farmers won’t even plant a crop this year.
