Walsh wins Missouri Rep. special election

Republican Sara Walsh won Tuesday’s special election to replace Caleb Jones, who left his seat in the 50th district to join Governor Greitens’ staff.

Jones ran unopposed as a Republican the last three times the seat was open.

This time, Walsh faced Democrat Michela Skelton. Walsh won 52 percent of the vote. Skelton had 53 percent support in the Boone County portion of the 50th district, but Walsh gained ground in the other partial counties in the district.
