A two-hour standoff in central Columbia ends peacefully.
Police say Lucas Garner, 39, drove away from a traffic stop in town on Dec. 19. Investigators traced the car back to Garner, and learned he had a 2001 Boone County assault warrant. He had active warrants in his native Kentucky too.
Officers spotted the car at a home on Hickman Avenue near Providence on Saturday, but Garner would not come out of the home and barricaded himself inside along with family members. He eventually gave himself up. No one in the home was hurt.
