Warrant issued tied to Waffle House double shooting

A Columbia man is now wanted tied to the double shooting and homicide at the Waffle House on New Year’s Day.

Court documents point to Matthew McMillan as the person who got in a fight with someone in the restaurant on Vandiver, and pulled a gun. The other man was shot in the leg during the struggle.

A security guard would arrive to break up the fight, and shot and killed Anthony Warren. The 30-year-old Warren was apparently not involved in that fight, but the guard says he felt threatened when a group of men crowded him.

McMillan, 29, is now accused of felony second degree murder, felony first degree assault, and felony unlawful use of a weapon. That’s with a $1,000,000 bond. He’s considered armed and dangerous.
