Water and Light: power restored to about 5,000 Columbia residents

With temperatures expected to hit at least 90 degrees today, Columbia Water and Light says power has now been restored to about 5,000 residents impacted by Tuesday morning’s outage in central Columbia.

Water and Light posted the update on its Facebook page, saying the outage happened when two transformers tripped.

Officials say the outage impacted some traffic signals as well.
