Downtown Columbia’s popular Broadway Diner is closed for the rest of Friday, after a late-morning water main break in that area.
City of Columbia Utilities spokesman Jason West tells 939 the Eagle that the water main break is in the 400 block of Locust and that a 24-hour precautionary boil advisory is in effect in that area. Residents and businesses in that area should boil water for three minutes before using it for cooking or drinking.
City of Columbia Utilities also urges you to NOT consume ice from an automatic ice maker.
