(Missourinet) United Auto Workers members are back at work in Wentzville.
Members ratified a contract last week ending a 40-day strike against General Motors.
“Everybody wanted something different, but I think in a nutshell that overall we’re happy,” says Mark Spears, who has worked at the Wentzville plant for five years. “I’m glad the benefits stayed in place. I mean, there are some things out there that we could have had but, most importantly, we’re back at work.”
The deal includes a six percent raise. That Wentzville plant has 4,600 workers, including at least one from mid-Missouri.
