U.S. Rep. Mark Alford (R-Raymore) has issued a statement, condemning political violence in all forms. He says it has no place in the United States. Congressman Alford is pausing all town halls until further notice, saying he will not risk the safety of his family, staff and himself because some choose violence over dialogue.

The congressman held a recent town hall in Harrisburg that included shouting from some in the audience.
