William Woods University’s next president is a familiar name in mid-Missouri’s Callaway County

The superintendent in mid-Missouri’s New Bloomfield R-III District will be the next president of historic William Woods University in Fulton, effective in June.

Dr. Sarah Wisdom has been a public school educator at New Bloomfield R-III for 21 years and earned the Missouri Association of Rural Education’s Outstanding Rural Administrator award in October 2025.

She is praised for creating a collaborative culture at New Bloomfield and raising teacher salaries. She’s also credited for managing the finances for three bond issues that saw the growth of facilities at New Bloomfield R-III, including a greenhouse. Dr. Wisdom describes William Woods as home, saying she’s humbled and honored to serve as the school’s next president.
