Missouri health director Randall Williams says the state will be done getting the coronavirus vaccine to staff and residents at long-term facilities that want the shots by the end of the week.
“We think that is a huge milestone,” Dr. Williams says.
Williams says the next step in the vaccine rollout will start in early February. Phase 1B includes about half of Missouri’s population: older people, teachers, and other essential workers.
“That is a big universe.”
Dr. Williams says he is hopeful two more vaccines, from AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson, will be available in February.
