Williams: State prepared to distribute virus vaccine quickly

The state’s health director says ten facilities in Missouri are ready once Pfizer starts distributing its coronavirus vaccine. That treatment needs to be stored at extremely cold temperatures.

Dr. Randall Williams says the Moderna vaccine will be easier to distribute throughout the state, since it does not have to be kept so cold.

“We are not going to let any moss gather on any vaccine that comes here in Missouri. We’re going to get it out, and distribute it immediately.”

Williams has said to expect the first wave of coronavirus vaccines in December. There may not be widespread availability until April.
