Winter weather leads several schools to cancel classes Tuesday

Most local school districts were not in session on Tuesday because of winter weather.

The combination of 1.1″ of snow (at Columbia Regional Airport), a little wintry mix, and freezing temperatures led to dozens of accidents on local roads Monday. Slick road conditions continued on Tuesday.

Columbia will keep its overnight warming center at Wabash Bus Station downtown on 10th St. open all week.
