One of Columbia’s largest employers is planning a holiday treat for the public, to help celebrate the company’s 75 anniversary.
Shelter Insurance will unveil a “Winter Wonderland” Thursday evening, after the 56th annual tree lighting ceremony at the company’s home office on Broadway. The Winter Wonderland will be a “garden of lights” in the popular five-acre Shelter Gardens, which include a waterfall.
The West Middle School choir will also be performing that evening, and Santa Claus will be taking photos.
The tree lighting ceremony program begins Thursday evening at 5:30, with the tree being lit at 6:10 pm. The Winter Wonderland will open immediately following that.
