(UPDATE: The story includes clarification that it’s a community advisory group working with MoDOT that describes that area as a hot spot of pedestrian deaths.)

Today (Thursday) is your opportunity to see maps and provide feedback on millions of dollars in potential improvements to mid-Missouri’s busiest interchange: Columbia’s I-70 and Highway 63 connector.

A community advisory group working with the state Department of Transportation (MoDOT) describes that area as a hot spot of pedestrian deaths. MoDOT will hold an open house from 4-6 pm at Columbia’s ARC on West Ash.

State highway commissioners have approved a $140-million reconfiguration of the interchange. You can come and go at any time during today’s open house: there is no formal presentation.

The agency is now re-evaluating the environmental impact statement for Columbia’s I-70 corridor between Route B and Route Z, which is an 18-mile stretch.
