Active coronavirus cases continue a steady drop in Boone County.

There were 53 new positives on Wednesday, but more than that, 60, were released from isolation.

Mizzou continued its decline in active student cases. There were 91 active as of Wednesday, down 33 from Tuesday. Mizzou added 12 student cases.

The Columbia Public Schools case tracker remains barely in range for some in-person learning according to that model, at 49.6.

Hospitalizations held steady in Boone County, at 51, and stay below capacity.

Cole and Callaway counties both saw small increases in active cases Wednesday. Cole reported 33 new cases, bringing active cases up to 124. Callaway reported 10 new positives, and active cases rose to 97.

Missouri added 1,580 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday. There were 83 COVID-19 deaths, for a total of 1,947. The state health department pointed to reporting delays as a reason for the high death total. The state’s seven-day positivity rate on virus tests dropped slightly to 11.4%.
