Ashcroft launches investigation into AG Hawley’s use of public funds

Secretary of state Jay Ashcroft’s office is now investigating Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley, to see if any public money was used to fund his successful bid for U.S. Senate.

Our news partner ABC 17 got hold of a letter from Ashcroft’s office to the American Democracy Legal Fund, confirming the investigation.

The ADLF alleges that Hawley spent money on political consultants to have them direct staff to take on politically attractive tasks that would boost Hawley’s profile.
