Boone County is extending its current phase of re-opening to keep up with the recent spike of local coronavirus cases.
The health department said Friday that social distancing requirements and mass gathering limits of 100 people will remain until Aug. 10. The original plan was to increase it to 250 people on July 20.
Health director Stephanie Browning said the department needs more time to catch up with testing and contact tracing measures before moving on to the next re-opening phase.
