Chiefs take first loss of 2020 to Las Vegas, 40-32

(AP) Patrick Mahomes has quickly earned a reputation for pulling off the seemingly impossible, whether it’s a no-look pass or a 70-yard heave or merely leading the Kansas City Chiefs to victory when all hope seems lost. But it was the Chiefs’ inability to execute the simple stuff that hurt them against the Las Vegas Raiders in a 40-32 loss Sunday.

Mahomes finished with 340 yards passing, two touchdowns and an interception. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr also had a good passing day, throwing for 347 yards, three touchdowns and an interception.

The loss for the Chiefs breaks a 13-game winning streak going back to last year. They are now 4-1 in the 2020 season.

Kansas City’s next game has been affected by the recent schedule changes in the NFL due to positive COVID-19 tests within multiple teams. They were originally scheduled to play the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night, but the game has been shifted back to Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Bills play the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday.
