The FBI is looking into alleged threats against Cole County staffers. It comes after two of the three commissioners voted not to buy new ambulances from the previous supplier, Osage Ambulance.
Eastern District Commissioner Jeff Hoelscher says Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe’s brother owns Osage.
“Who in the other party that was trying to sell us ambulances…would want to influence that sale? I think it’s pretty simple,” said Hoelscher.
Hoelscher says both he and Western Commissioner Kris Scheperle stand by their decision to buy ambulances from a Canadian firm, Demers of Canada. Presiding Commissioner Sam Bushman opposed the choice that passed 2-1.
