(AP) — The trial of a woman charged in a Jefferson City child’s death will be moved to a new county and will likely be heard by a new judge.
A Cole County judge granted a change of venue Wednesday for Quatavia Givens’ trial in the October 2018 death of 4-year-old Darnell Gray.
She is charged with first-degree murder in the boy’s death while she was babysitting him. Givens reported him missing on Oct. 25, 2018, and told authorities the child might have been abducted.
Givens was charged after Darnell’s body was found about a week later.
